About New Berlin, WI
The city of New Berlin, WI is a very popular staple of the Milwaukee area. Located in Waukesha County along with other popular smaller suburbs, this one is a one of a kind. And what you may notice if you talk to the locals, is that they accentuate the first symbol of Berlin rather than the second, unlike the town in Germany. In this little footnote, we’re going to give you some information that you may not know about Berlin, WI and discuss some great reasons on why you may want to consider moving there if you’re thinking about moving to the Milwaukee area.
The History of Berlin
This was a town that was founded in 1836 when its first settlers, Sidney Evans and P.G. Harrington came to the town and called it home. It was originally a part of the neighboring town, Muskego, Eventually, the town separated itself and became independent in 1839, and it was known as the town of Mentor for 20 years until 1959. In the span from 1850 and 1950, the town went from about a thousand people to over 5,000. And it continued to grow. It even tripled in size in 15,778. The town was also said to be named after Sidney Evans hometown in New York.
Agricultural Heartlands
As part of the Heartland area of America, New Berlin was primarily a rural community through most of its lifespan, and there are still numerous areas of rural population still intact. However, as the time grew, so did the city, and now it features numerous urban and rural settings as well.

They are homes for the Heritage Christian School, Holy Apostles Catholic Grade School, and the Star of Bethlehem Lutheran School. Their public schools in the district are also some of the best in the area as well, and have gained a lot of popularity as well.
Historic Areas

One of these famous places that New Berlin is home to is the Cheese Factory, and Mustang Shelly’s. They also have Coffee Street, which is now called Coffee Road, but is used to pass through a primarily German community, and more. This historic street is still in place, and has numerous vintage signs that are used throughout the area to show you the historic nature of the town and the road. The historic sites of the town doesn’t stop there either though.
